Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of the same questions popping up in my server—not just from total newbies, but even from seasoned collectors who get tripped up by the complexity of Kayou. While I don’t claim to be the ultimate "Sensei," I’ve compiled this guide based on verified info to help you navigate the world of Kayou Naruto without getting lost.

1. Why Kayou Naruto?

If you’re a Naruto fan, you’ve definitely seen these cards around. Kayou is the absolute titan of the anime collectible card industry in China, handling massive IPs like MLP, Ultraman, and of course, Naruto.

The big question: Is it official? YES. Kayou Naruto is officially licensed by Studio Pierrot. This is crucial for collectors because "Official" means liquidity and long-term value in the CCG/TCG world. (Note: Kayou Naruto is currently a CCG, not TCG. I know some Naruto TCG is coming in March, but basically in Europe).

Kayou cards are famous for their vibrant colors and insane tech—cold foil, holographic refraction, and 3D embossing. Honestly, the art style is subjective (I personally find some cards a bit too colorful), but the high-tier hits are undeniably stunning and well-designed.

2. Regional Differences: CN vs. SEA vs. NA

This is where most people get confused. Same art, different versions:

• CN Version: The "OG." It has the fastest updates and the full range of Tiers (T1-T5). The text is in Simplified Chinese. It’s generally the cheapest due to high supply, which also means common rare cards have lower resale value.
• SEA Version: Distributed locally with English or Chinese text. The pack/box specs differ slightly from NA. It’s an alternative if you can’t get NA boxes. Typically, the SEA version has 5 cards per pack, while the NA version comes with 8 cards per pack
• NA Version: I believe this is the best version for collectors. It usually carries a premium price due to logistics/taxes, but Kayou tweaks the pull rates and includes NA-exclusive cards. But officially, this version can only be sold in the US market. Because of these reasons, they hold the highest collection value.

Note: Only Series 1 (Heaven Scroll) and Series 2 (Jin-002) are true NA versions for now.(before the new series drops..) Everything else is CN/SEA. Since NA is still in its early stages, starting now makes you an "OG" collector, lol!

3. Where to Buy?

Sealed boxes:

AliExpress is the most common channel for getting CN/SEA versions. For NA versions, I recommend Amazon, TikTok Shop, or independent community sites, for example: Goods4Fans. And Whatnot or Tiktok Live for that "Rip & Ship" adrenaline. If you want to go offline, local card shops or some card shows could help, but be careful about the prices and authenticity.

Singles:

eBay is king for specific rare cards. Some Discord communities have trade channels, but be careful with P2P trades if you’re new.

4. Rarity Tier List 

I only focus on the NA version
From Highest to Lowest: SE (Scenario-E) > SP (Special) > AR (Artist Rare) > BP (Brush Rare) > MR (Miracle Rare) > PU (Parallel Universe) > PTR (Platinum Rare) > UR > SSR > SR > R

PR (Promo Cards): Usually box toppers or gifts—NOT for sal

Serialized cards: Cards with specific numbers. For example, in Series 2 (Jin-002), you can find PR cards numbered out of 999 or 99. it means only 999 or 99 copies of that card exist in the entire NA print run. Special numbers like 001/999 (First print), 999/999 (Last print), or matching numbers (like 007 or 666) will significantly increase the card's value.

5. Protection & Storage

At the end of the day, these are fancy pieces of paper. They will warp or bend due to humidity. You can choose Inner Sleeve or Toploader for scratch protection. And using side-loading binders to prevent cards from sliding out the top.

Some hardcore members in my server use a "Card Press" (see the pic) to keep them perfectly flat. A bit extreme? Maybe. Does it work? Absolutely (lol).

6. Grading & Secondary Market

PSA and TAG are both solid options for grading Kayou Naruto cards right now! I’m planning to put together a Grading Guide post, so I’d love to hear from the pros here. If you have any tips or insights, please share them with me

To my knowledge, TAG only accept the NA version for grading for now.

My advice is that you can consider to grade AR, SP, and definitely any SE or Numbered PR/SE cards.

Like most CCGs, almost all of these low rarity cards (R/SR/SSR) have zero resale value . The real value is in the Top 5% (AR, SP, SE, Numbered cards). Price depends on the character, exclusivity, condition and a lot of unknowns. Join a community to get some "price checks" before you get sharked.

7. Some Tips

1. Reliable Sources Only: Don't get scammed by "Resealed" boxes. If the price is too good to be true, it’s probably a scam.
2. Buy Singles: If you only want a specific character, buying the singles would be a good choice. Don't gamble away your life savings chasing one card.
3. Watch the Premium: Markets fluctuate. Don't FOMO buy at peak prices.
4. Join a Community: The fastest way to learn is from veterans. Join a reliable community, for example, my server, which is full of benefits &  intel can help you save money and find the best cards.
